Does SalaryTap check my credit?

Yes. When you apply for a SalaryTap loan, we’ll review your credit and your employment history. However, applying for a SalaryTap loan will not impact your FICO score. If you’ve been at your job for a long time and have a stable income, we may approve your loan even if you have less-than-perfect credit!

What loan amounts and terms are offered on a SalaryTap loan?

All SalaryTap loans are made in the amount of $2,000-$5,000, with an Annual Percentage Rate (“APR”) range of 24.90% – 29.90% and regularly recurring payments that are scheduled to fully amortize and pay off the loan in 30 months. Interest is accrued on a daily basis, but only on the outstanding principal.

What information do I need to register and to apply for a loan?

You will need an email address to register and apply. You will also need to provide your employee ID and social security number to help us verify your employment. We may also ask you for proof of income, such as a recent paystub.

What is a payroll allotment?

Payroll allotment is an agreement between you and your employer that allows SalaryTap to draw payments directly from your paycheck to satisfy your payment obligations for your SalaryTap loan. SalaryTap applies payments automatically to what you owe so that you can be confident you’re always paying on time.

How do I set up my payroll allotment?

You’ll find the details on your confirmation page. This page will show you your SalaryTap account number, your routing number, and the total outstanding balance on your loan.

In the event your company’s online payroll system won’t let you enter cents in the allotment field, just round to the nearest dollar. We recommend rounding up so that you can reduce your balance faster.

How do I confirm my payroll allotment is set up?

Once you finish setting up your allotment with your company’s payroll system, you should see a confirmation page that details your allotment information. You must submit a screenshot of this page to us to receive your loan.

Which on-line payroll system should I use?

SalaryTap is proud to provide underwriting for qualified employees of many government agencies. We’re also looking at adding new employers to our network.

Notable Federal payroll providers include: Employee Express (Department of Education, Department of the Interior, Department of State, Department of Transportation), myPay (Department of Defense), myEPP (Federal Employees of various Agencies), PostalEase (U.S. Postal Service Employees), and OPM (Federal Retirees).

What if my company does not offer access to an online payroll system?

If you’re a Federal Employee, it’s likely that you do have access to an online payroll system provided by your employer. Your supervisor or payroll administrator may be able to help.

However, in the event that use of an online payroll system is not available, we may be able to accept manual forms if they are provided by a payroll administrator.

How long does it take to process my application?

We try to process every application swiftly. Sometimes an allotment confirmation may take up to 3 business days.

Errors in submitted documentation can cause delays. Be sure your documents are correct and legible before you submit them, that will help us serve you faster.

The receipt of your funds will vary based on the time at which your application was approved. You will receive an email notification once your loan is approved.
